We all keep saying to bring back the golden age of armies. But I say, was there ever a true golden age? I would have to say that whenever someone starts off it’s their golden age. I remember back in the day, that was my best time. I only wish now that I would have known of sites back then, I would have been a leader in something and made a bigger impact than I can ever hope to make now. I think we go about it all wrong now. Being led by mostly CP vets in their early teenage years we go about things to benefit us. Here’s what I say should be happening though: I say, if the golden age is that of the individual then make it more user friendly. Is my advice worth taking? I guess we have to decide this for ourselves. Even I am not sure that I say this correctly.

You say, “Flame your wrong. A golden age defines the well being, peace, and prosperity of an army.” I sat no. I say that those are good times where leaders begin to slack off. That’s were the depression seeks in.

I have recently been doing lots of research on the old forum days. I enjoy reading whatever writings from ACP founder Oagalthorp that I can get my hands on. The old days were more fun because of one reason that Oagal himself did not realize. There were always wars and it was a fight to survive. Many armies were great back then that no one knows of today. Most I find I cannot decipher the initials.

Basicaly all I am trying to say here can be summed up in a quote from Oagalthorp himself. I could go on but this voices my current opinion well. Please read the following:

¶Despite being smaller in size, things were more fun in the early stages of the ACP; back when soldiers were loyal and wars were wars. Maybe the small scale of everything back then made them more managable. Maybe the forums united everyone so things were more direct. Maybe the relatively small number of soldiers unsured better loyalty, cooperation, and a family-like sense of community. But whatever, I doubt things will go back to those days.

Will Oagalthorp be proven wrong? Well we can decide with hard work perhaps. I invite you all to think of what has been said. I think we need to be able to define a golden age before to long to ensure another one. Sure there will be great leaders in the future but we need to educate new recruits to ensure that armies do not die.
